SMSL ELECTIONS: College Representatives and the Executive Committee
It’s that time of year again!
Nominations are open for College Representatives (from the 5 Universities – UCL, IC, KCL, QMUL and St. George’s) who will subsequently form the 16th SMSL Executive Committee.
As College Rep, your role will be to liaise between the members in your University, other SMSL members and the Committee and to pass on updates, information and feedback.
After being chosen as College Rep, the 5 College Reps will then undergo another round of elections (in Feb 2010) to decide on their roles in the Executive Committee: President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Membership Secretary and Executive Secretary. Please note that many of the SMSL activities do occur over the Summer so it would be ideal for Reps to be in Singapore over the Summer.
If you would like to nominate someone or step forward yourself, please reply to your respective College Reps to indicate your interest latest by Sunday, 17th Jan 2010.
The Nominee should include their
1) Name
2) College
3) Course
4) Year
5) Contact Number
6) Current Commitments
7) A short 200-250 word paragraph on why you would like to be in the SMSL Committee.
Please note that candidates may be required to submit a CV and/or attend an interview at a later date.
SMSL Working Committee Nominations will open in January 2010.
We encourage you to give this some thought and consider running for the Committee. It’s a really good start to knowing more about your career plus it looks brilliant on a CV. Being on the Committee, you will have the chance to meet and work with your future employers and colleagues at an earlier stage, build opportunities for yourself and your career, form friendships with peers from all over the UK and shape SMSL into what you would like it to become and achieve.
