For the past 7 years, SMSL has been sending her members for an annual service learning trip to Khon Kaen, Thailand. Each year a team of 10-20 students and professionals embark on this trip in attempt to benefit the community in this poor region of Thailand.
This year, we come under the NGO HealthEx International, set up by previous PKK leaders to empower volunteers to plan, lead and execute humanitarian expeditions.
We aim to improve the lives of the less fortunate by providing basic healthcare in the form of health education, screening and data collection on endemic diseases in the region and to bring joy and hope into their lives. We also hope to inspire participants through our projects, so that they may continue such work in the future.
For more information and if you are interested in joining our team this year, please read the attached document and fill in the application form. Send it back to pkk.smsl@healthexinternational.org by 1st March 2010.
Feel free to contact us at pkk.smsl@healthexinternational.org or Evelyn (Membership) at evelynthangaraj@hotmail.com for more information. It will definitely be a challenging but fulfilling experience and we hope that you will consider being a part of our team this year.
We hope to hear from you soon!
