Volunteering Opportunity at HCA Hospice
Hospice care is most appropriate when a patient can no longer benefit from curative treatment and life expectancy is, at most, less than 12 months. The patient can have any type of life-limiting illness, such as end-stage cancer, end-stage heart disease, end-stage renal failure, AIDS etc. Hospice care is generally focused on pain and symptom control and on enabling patients to spend their last days with dignity and having a good quality of life. Volunteers are valuable resources who complement our staff in working to provide a better quality of life for our patients. Everyone deserves to live out his or her last months, weeks or days in dignity and comfort and you can help make that happen.
